WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?
Tell your story, or someone else’s story in 15s or less.
The 15 Second Film Maker Challenge, a new initiative from Creative Youth Festival, connects youth content creators and youth artists to showcase creativity.
What will you do with your 15” of FAME?
All you need is an original idea, your phone camera and something or someone to film. It’s all about shining the light on youth creativity so tell a story, or find a great artist(s) whether it’s a screenwriter, dancer, musician, illustrator, painter, sculptor, designer or ballroom-dancing-rugby-player you’ll no doubt have endless ideas.
All films should be positive, upbeat, humorous and feel good. Dark humour is fine too as long as it’s family-friendly.
Your film could be silent, but it’s probably better with some sound. If you do use sound and music, make sure you have the rights to use the sounds and music.
You’ll need to sign a waiver and disclaimer which you can download here or below.
Once you’ve made your film, fill out the form below and upload your film. Our panel will select eligible films that follow the rules and fit our vision, values and mission and we’ll add it to our Instagram, TikTok and YouTube channels.
Eligible films will also be showcased at Creative Youth Festival at FAME Week Africa 2024 from 2-4 September 2024.
Once your film is on our platforms it’s up to you to get all your friends, family, dogs, cats, pet birds, associates, buddies, neighbours, and long-lost uncles and aunties to follow and like your film. The top two films with the most VIEWS on TikTok and LIKES on Instagram will each win a sponsored entry to the 48 Hour Film Challenge Cape Town.
Film Makers/Team Members must be between the ages of 18 – 35 to enter. Film Makers/Team Members under the age of 18 must have the approval of their parent/legal guardian.
Competition officially opens 01 August 2024.
Films need to be uploaded by 25 August 2024.

What do I win?
You win kudos and respect… and also some CASH, because we know how difficult it is to make good content, and how hard the industry and economy is.
Your films will be judged based on creativity & themes that spread joy, how well you tell your story, your production value, and how closely you’ve adhered to the rules.
We also have Film Fam participation awards, because what are stories without our community that loves to watch them, we’re giving away 10 x R150 vouchers to lucky fans who vote for your films!
The Top Films will be screened at FAME Week Africa between 2-4 September 2024.
